Torwood Garden Centre in Larbert will be celebrating 80 years in business during 2022

The business has been in the Stevenson family since it was founded by John Stevenson Snr in 1942 as a market garden. It is now managed by the 3rd and 4th generation of the family: John, Dorothy, Jamie Stevenson.

Many local families have multiple generations who have supported our business over the years, whether for their wedding flowers, children’s toys or garden goods.

To mark this milestone we have expansion plans for our 80th year, and have a number of positions to fill in the growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly family business and we are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, self-motivated and customer focused. The following permanent posts are available for immediate start:

Cook

Part-time or Full Time Permanent Position – 24-40 hours

£9.80 per hour

Benefits include staff discount, 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year (pro-rata) and social working hours within 8-5pm (Yes we really do not have kitchen staff in before 8am or after 5pm!) 

Experienced individual required. 

Cleaner

Part-time Permanent Position – 7 hours

£9.60 per hour

Benefits include staff discount, 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year (pro-rata) and flexible working across week within 9-5pm.

Experienced individual required. 

Bakery Assistant

Part-time Permanent Position – 18 hours

From £9.60 per hour (depending on experience)

Benefits include staff discount, 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year (pro-rata) and flexible working across week within 9-5pm.

Working alongside our trained baker to produce the highest quality of cakes, scone and traybakes.  Must have some experience with baking, although experienced home-baker may be considered.

Knowledge of BSL Sign Language advantageous, although not essential.  Our current baker is deaf and understanding of sign language would help training and working together within the bakery.

We have recently upgraded our bakery, moving it away from out kitchen to allow room to expand and increase the production capacity as well as move into a wider range of products going forward.
