TORWOOD
GARDEN CENTRE
A family
run, independent business for over 60 years, currently managed by the
3rd generation of the Stevenson family. Located in the “Braveheart”
of central Scotland between Falkirk and Stirling with easy access from
the M876 motorway, ~30 mins from Glasgow and Edinburgh, 45 mins from
Perth.
Despite its excellent road links and being on the edge of the Falkirk-Larbert
conurbation Torwood Garden Centre is very much a rural location, views
of the Ochil hills giving a stunning backdrop on the pleasant drive
through mature woodlands to the centre. The modern purpose built buildings
are set within a Victorian walled garden (originally the kitchen garden
and orchard for Glenbervie House- now an internationally renowned hotel)
Torwood has everything you’d expect of a modern garden centre
and a lot more besides -a fantastic range of garden plants as well as
gifts, garden furniture and BBQ’s, tools, landscaping goods, pets
and aquatics. Click on the links for more details.
The Three Trees Tearoom is a very popular local eating place in its
own right with a large conservatory and patio dining area if the weather
allows.
The weather is not something that should put you off visiting Torwood
garden Centre as the spacious high ceilinged buildings give over 2000m2
of indoor shopping as well as having a large part of the plant area
under glass, including covered walkways.
The new centre was built with disabled access very much in mind-all
on the level with slabbed pathways outdoors giving easy access to all
areas. Wheelchairs and disabled parking bays are provided. Car parking
for over 200 cars and buses.
With woodland walks and picnic tables in the beech woods beside the
stream, and display gardens for inspiration, Torwood really is somewhere
that the whole family can spend a fun day out. Whilst in the area you
may like to visit the Falkirk Wheel and the Antonine Wall, a world heritage
site, both only a short drive away.
